The tin by the sink
Grandma kept rendered tallow by the kitchen sink — for chapped hands, wind-burned cheeks, scraped knees.
2021
47 messy batches
Staring at a shelf of $60 creams we couldn't pronounce, we went back to her recipe and whipped it 47 times.
2022
The first 100 jars
We hand-filled a hundred jars at the kitchen table and gave them to friends. They came back for more.
Today
8,200 happy faces
Same four ingredients. Same small batches. Just a lot more sinks with a jar beside them.
